Yellow Stemborer (Scirpophaga incertulas) temperature model
The model is a simple day-degree model, where a certain heat sum leads to a transition of one phase to another. It is designed to fit into the VIPS automatic pest prediction system.

as provided by Dr. Mohapatra
Cutoffs
The daily contribution to the heat sum is calculated from min and max temperatures using the single sine wave function. The lower and upper cutoffs for calculating the daily contribution for each phase of the [EGG,LARVAE,PUPA,ADULT]
are by default {13.0,12.0,15.0,13.0}

Developing and testing the model
Writing code
It is recommended to use an IDE (Integrated Development Environment) such as NetBeans or Eclipse to develop and test the model.
Testing
Using JUnit
JUnit is used for testing the model. See the src/test/java/no/nibio/vips/model/yellowstemborertempmodel/YellowStemborerTempModelTest.java
file for how it's done.
Using a web service client such as Postman
Postman is an excellent tool for testing the model when it's deployed on the VIPSCore system. In the /postman_tests
folder you can find a test example. To change it, change the Json input data in the body. See the illustration below.
Building
Building is done using Maven. In the source code tree, run mvn install
